Safeguarding & Child Protection - nothing's more important!

Keeping Children Safe is our top priority at Killamarsh Junior. We want children to be safe, feel safe, be happy, confident and know how to get help when they need it.

The documents below explain how we make sure this happens in school and what we do to support children in families in protecting their children from harm. There are also key documents from the Government too, that guide our work and advice and ideas from other organisations about how to support children as they growing up safely. At KJS we want to grow successful futures for our children and value your support in doing this.

Don't forget, if you're worried about a child's safety or think they are at risk of harm tell a member of staff instantly or ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533 190

We're all online more since lockdown! Sometimes it's home learning, sometimes social-networking and streaming apps (SnapChat, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube etc) sometimes gaming or just shopping and work. But do we always know who is on the other end of those activities? Are you sure your child is staying safe?

The importance of hygiene and tackling COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Personal hygiene is the most important way we can tackle COVID-19, especially washing hands more; and the catch it, bin it, kill it strategy for those with coughs and sneezes.

How to wash your hands properly

Wash your hands more often for 20 seconds with soap and hot water.

Watch this short NHS film for guidance:

Teach young children how to wash their hands with the NHS handwashing song:

Public Health England recommends that in addition to handwashing before eating, and after coughing and sneezing, everyone should also wash hands after using toilets and travelling on public transport.
