  • Fun at the Football Festival

    Fri 20 Oct 2017

What a day! What an event! Year 5/6 girls spent a morning at the Derbyshire F.A. festival honing their football skills. Whether dribbling, juggling, goalkeeping, shooting or even refereeing, we covered every aspect of this fast growing girl's sport.

Guest appearances from a Derby County Ladies player and a free-styler, not to mention Berry the Bear (what a character she was).  The day ended with a fun non-competitive mini tournament by which time the girls were utterly exhausted. Watch out, Millie Bright!

A big thanks goes to Mr Bakes for taking the girls.

Thank you so much for all the letters and photos we have received from our past pupils. It's been lovely to hear all the amazing things you have been doing. Don't worry if you haven't sent yours in yet, this is an on going project and the display will be added to and updated throughout the year. We look forward to hearing from you.
  • A Taste of India

    Thu 19 Oct 2017

Our Year 3s and 4s had a great day learning about and tasting a variety of Indian foods. They learnt about different spices, tried pakora and lassi and even made onion bhajis. The day was complete with an Indian banquet for lunch.

A huge thanks goes to Mrs Windle, Mrs Windows and Mrs Cotton for all your organisation and hard work. Thanks also to Mrs Bowles and Mrs Jones for creating an Indian feast and decorating the hall.

    Japanese Food Tasting

Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic afternoon trying and describing several different foods linked to Japan-many of which they had never tried before. They enjoyed tasting Wasabi Peas, Prawn Crackers, Noodles and Sushi. Most children were very daring and tried a small bite of each, learning about new flavours and tastes.
