As part of British Science Week, Miss Gelder from Wales High School created a video lesson for us. She choose the activity BRIDGE BLUNDER from the Primary Activity British Science Week pack. This activity was designed to get children thinking about the connections between weights, forces and measures.
We also entered the BSW poster competition around the theme CONNECTIONS. We selected 5 winners who were presented with a Science pin badge. Their entries have been submitted on the BSW Website. Good luck!
Sorry but heavy snow has led to school closing today. We hope children can enjoy the rare opportunity to play in the snow and after that they can read and do their homework :-)
We have been visited today by a past pupil and her colleagues from Sheffield Hallam University. They are training as child nurses and are taking part in a community project to promote healthy lifestyles.
We learnt about the role of a children's nurse, the use of ABCDE to check a casualty and how to put someone into the recovery position.
We would like to thank them for taking the time to speak to our children. Thank you!
Today Y3/4A and Y3/4D have joined Rykneld Homes and the Killamarsh Conservation Group to plant bulbs in the community. Thank you to everyone for organising and running this activity.
Also, thank you to Killamarsh Infant and Nursery School for the loan of their trowels.
