This term our topic is 'What would Bear Grylls do?'
In Geography, we will be learning all about desert biomes and desert survival.
In English, we are reading The Desert Challenge by Bear Grylls. We will write a desert adventure story, a desert survival explanation text and we will write a letter to Bear Grylls about out learning.
In Science, we will be learning about magnets and the North and South Pole. We will learn about a range of scientists linked to magnets, dating back to Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome.
In Design technology, we will be investigating, planning, making and evaluating shelters.
Our RE topic is 'What does it mean to be a Christian in Britain today?' and our RSHE/Jigsaw topic is 'Celebrating Differences'. In Computing, we will be looking at Writing for Different Audiences.
In Indoor PE, we will improving our fitness with circuits. We will be practising our Hockey skills in outdoor PE.
This term, our English book is The Desert Challenge by Bear Grylls and our Class book is Race to the Frozen North: The Matthew Henson story by Catherine Johnson.
Well done to all the children who entered their design into Lee Rowley's competition. Certificates have been sent out today. Congratulations, to one of our class mates who won runner-up and has his design on the back of the Christmas card.
Lee Rowley MP visit
As part of UK Parliament, we have had a visit from our local MP Lee Rowley. The children asked some amazing questions and also told him that they would like a pedestrian crossing outside school.
Our assembly target was about democracy and rule of law. Lee presented the winners!
Young Writer's Poetry Competition
We are excited to announce that we have had several winners for the Young Writer's Poetry Stars competition.
Children have received a certificate and bookmark. They will also get their work published.
