Crossing Patrol John Sizer leaving for a new job

We're sorry to announce that John Sizer (our Crossing Patrol Officer) is leaving to start a new job in 2 weeks. We are very grateful for his service to our schools and children over the last 51/years and wish him all the best for the future.

If you would like to contribute to a leaving present for John, please drop it in to the office in a marked envelope, thank you!

That of course leaves us with a vacancy for the time being. If you are interested in being a crossing patrol officer or know someone who might be, please visit the Derbyshire County Council jobs site

https://jobs.derbyshire.gov.uk/ and click on Highways

Please note that we may not have a crossing patrol officer for the last 1 week and 4 days of term so will be talking through road safety with the children again and if you are worried about your children's independence when using a crossing, then you may need to arrange someone to supervise them on their journey to and from school over these last days.

As you know, the schools have had to fund this patrol ourselves and we appreciate the support we have had from you for this in the past.

At this time, it looks unlikely we'll be able to fund the post after January 2022 , unless we receive more funding that is not school budget dependent. If you you know someone or an organisation that can help with this please get in touch.
