  • Ofsted Report Published

    Tue 23 Jun 2015 S. Turner

We now have confirmation of our Ofsted Inspection Report, which you’ll be pleased to know, confirms that your child’s school is a Good School! The report has been published on our school website and will be on the Ofsted website in the next few days! A paper copy of these will be sent with this newsletter today.

    The report starts by stating:

    • The school is improving rapidly because, since the previous inspection, leaders and governors have significantly improved pupils’ achievement and the quality of teaching. They manage teachers’ performance well.
    • Pupils achieve well in all subjects, including reading, writing and mathematics, because they are taught well.
    • Pupils thoroughly enjoy school. They are very proud of what they do and develop personally and academically.
    • Behaviour is good in lessons and around the school. Pupils are eager to learn and do well. They are articulate, friendly and polite.
    • Staff ensure that pupils acquire the skills they need for later life. The focus on enterprise skills is particularly effective in preparing pupils for life beyond school.

We, like you, are proud of our school and the children’s achievements and we will continue to work together to ensure we secure Outstanding provision in the near future! Please see the full report in the Parents / Ofsted Reports section!

    Mon 22 Jun 2015 Miss D

On Friday 26th June KJS are joining thousands of people across the country by wearing their wrong trousers to raise money to help sick children in hospitals and hospices across the UK.

It's entirely up to you what trousers you choose to wear - favourite pyjama bottoms, dungarees, tutu - anything you want. All you have to do is wear your trousers with pride and donate £1 for the right to look wrong!

  • Nepal Earthquake Appeal

    Sat 16 May 2015

Thank you for you generosity on BE day. £182 was raised from children wearing non-uniform for the Nepal Earthquake Appeal proving yet again that KJS cares.

  • VE Day 70th anniversary activities in school!

    Fri 08 May 2015
Throughout the day children will focus their learning on the topic of VE Day, the end of WW2 in Europe. They will learn about the events and celebrations of the day and consider what it would be like for those involved and what lessons can we learn from it for the future.

Please get in contact if you have any concerns about this but I'm sure all children will find it an engaging fun and informative day.

Children may also come dressed in non-uniform by bringing 50p to support survivors and recovery of communities in Nepal, following the earthquake.

We hope all our children enjoyed viewing the solar eclipse. It remained very cloudy but we did manage to see part of it. Unforunately, it was bright enough to use out home-made pinhole cameras.
